It uses an infrared halogen lamp, the kind that throws warmth right where your birds need it. And the whole thing is sealed up tight, so moisture and dust don’t stand a chance.
What it’s really got under the hood
This is a high-wattage, shortwave infrared lamp—rated at2500W and 400V. That combo is all about packing a lot of heat into a small footprint. So you can warm a big coop without giving up space. The tube is300mm long, which keeps the size compact. It slides in easily, whether you’re swapping out an old fixture or building something custom.
The materials that matter (and why they do the job)
Inside, you’ve got aquartz tube filled with halogen gas. That design keeps the filament steady when things get scorching, and it helps the lamp last way longer than a standard bulb. The heat is shortwave infrared, which means it warms bedding, birds, and surfaces directly—instead of just trying to heat the air around them. For mounting, it uses anR7s connector, the standard two-point setup you’ll recognize from linear lamp housings. It locks in clean and stays put. And the waterproof housing—plus the seals—protects the lamp and connections from condensation, washdowns, and plain old weather.
How it feels in the coop
In the coop, that radiant heat does something real: it dries bedding faster, cuts down on dampness, and helps keep the temperature steady. The waterproof build matters, too. In a place that’s humid and gets cleaned often, it prevents shorts and corrosion. With400V and 2500W, you get high heat density—so it warms up fast and covers a lot of ground.
A heads-up on the trade-off
Because this heater is seriously powerful, your coop needs proper ventilation and thermal management. If airflow isn’t up to the job, heat can build up in one spot. Pair it with a thermostat, and get the mounting height right. That way you control the spot temperature and keep your flock safe and comfortable.
