Keeping the Water Out
Water and electricity are a terrible mix. That’s why we went with an IP65 rating. In plain English? It means the housing is tight enough to keep out dust and can handle water jets hitting it from any direction. We used high-temp silicone gaskets to seal the spots where the wires enter the tube. This keeps the moisture away from the terminals. If you’re installing this in a room full of steam, those seals are what stop your fuses from blowing every other week.
A Quick Heads-Up on Installation
These lamps are powerful. They pump out a ton of heat in a very small space, which is great for getting warm fast. But there’s a catch. Because they get so hot, you can’t just throw them into a plastic housing—it’ll warp or melt. You’ll want to use heat-resistant alloys or ceramics for the fixture and make sure your mounting brackets can handle the heat. We kept the design simple because that’s how you get reliability. The quartz won’t corrode, the seals keep things dry, and you get a heater that actually lasts.
